Joining Explorer Post #900

To be a Pinellas County Sheriff's Explorer, you must be:

14 to 21 years old
Enrolled in high school or a local college
A good student with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and have regular attendance
Of good moral character with no criminal record - references will be requested
Able to attend meetings and training sessions by arranging your own transportation
Must be physically able to exercise and able to stand for long periods of time

Meetings are routinely scheduled for Tuesday nights from 6:45PM to 9:00PM at the Explorer Office in the Administrative Support Building. 14500 49 St. N., Clearwater, FL.

Explorer Post 900 hosts an annual Exploring Academy in June of each year. Applications are required and are accepted earlier in the spring. New members are selected from the academy recruit class. Please refer back to the website for updates.

All eligible academy applicants must:
1. Write a paragraph explaining why you are interested in becoming an explorer.
2. Include your full legal name, date of birth, gender, complete mailing address, phone number and email address.
3. Provide a copy of your most recent report card.
4. Provide your photograph.

These items must be mailed to: Explorer Post 900 10750 Ulmerton Rd. Largo, FL 33778 no sooner than March 1, 2011. The deadline for applications has not been established.
