Twelve members of Post 900 participated in a Florida Association of Police Explorers Delegates’ meeting in Sanford, Florida on September 26-27, 2009. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office prepared a day of training scenarios requiring teams of four to respond to a variety of law enforcement calls for service. Members were exposed to the kidnapping of an adolescent child, a disturbance at a business, a student with a gun in an unruly classroom, and a traffic stop. Maintaining control in often confrontational circumstances, members were able to use their investigative skills to resolve the situations at hand.
On Sunday, Seminole County hosted a pistol competition, the first in which only semi-automatic firearms were used. Pinellas County continues to prove that the training they receive results in success. Elias Karr received a 2nd place medal for the Marksman Division. Matthew Sauter received the 1st place medal for the Sharpshooter Division, and Joshua Davidson received the Overall Match Champion trophy. In addition to the individual success, Joshua Davidson, Matthew Sauter, Nathan Mowatt and Keith Felsman received the 1st place team trophy! Congratulations Pinellas County Explorer Post 900!
