Explorer Post 900 Competes in Okaloosa County
Thirteen members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 participated in the Florida Sheriff’s Exploring Association delegate’s meeting and pistol competition held in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida on March 6-8. A pistol competition was hosted by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Explorers had the opportunity to compete choosing from CO2 pistols, .38 revolvers, or the semi-automatic category. Members of Explorer Post 900 put their skill on the range to the test, and brought home several trophies. In the .38 caliber competition Explorer Rachel Davidson earned 3rd place, Explorer Keith Felsman earned 2nd place and Explorer Matthew Sauter received the 1st place trophy in the TYRO division. Explorer Thomas Garmon received the overall match winning trophy and Post 900 received the High Team trophy for the .38 caliber competition. Great Job! In the 9mm semi-automatic competition Explorer Cody Malander received the first place trophy in the TYRO division, Explorer Joshua Davidson received the overall match winning trophy and Post 900 received the High Team trophy for the 9mm competition! Way to go Post 900! Following the training and pistol competition, Post 900 members continued to compete in a survivor match followed by a teen dance hosted by the Okaloosa County Explorer Post. The return to Florida’s panhandle was another of many opportunities that Exploring has to offer.
