Explorer Post #900
Explorer Post 900 Competes in Daytona Beach, Florida
Post #900 Daytona Delegates
Seven members of Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 participated in the Florida Association of Police Explorer’s state competition held in Daytona Beach, Florida on September 8-9.  Twenty one Explorer Posts from around the state met for a full day of training at the Daytona Beach Community College Criminal Justice Center.  Explorers were exposed to two crime scene investigations, and domestic violence and active shooter scenarios.  The training was extremely authentic due to the participation of student actors from the Daytona Beach Criminal Justice Center.  Sunday’s events included a pistol competition.  Explorer Michael Metzger (15) received a 3rd place trophy in the marksman division.  Explorer Lieutenant Luke Dougherty (18) received a 5th placed trophy in the Expert division.  Explorer Metzger, Explorer Cpl. Joshua Davidson (18), Explorer Sergeant Thomas Garmon (16), and Explorer Lieutenant Luke Dougherty participated in the Team Event and took second place at the match!  We are proud of the professional behavior and sportsmanship that members of Post 900 exhibited, as well as, their enthusiasm to continue learning all aspects of law enforcement.
