Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 participates in Heart Walk 2007 |

On Saturday, November 10, 2007 six members of Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 participated in the American Heart Association’s Tampa Bay Heart Walk 2007. Explorers Thomas Garmon, Desiree Wiggins, Tom Thibodeau, Wesley Wood, Chelsie Rudd, and Miles Marinello joined members of the Detention and Corrections Bureau to form the 45 member team appropriately named “CagedHearts07.” Team leader and Explorer Advisor Sgt. Jennifer Davis organized the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office participation and led the team at Raymond James Stadium as they began the 5k walk. The team raised nearly $3,600.00 to help fight heart disease and stroke in our community; as well as, encouraging a heart healthy lifestyle. The Explorer Post raised in excess of $1700.00 in sponsor donations. The top walkers, Explorer Chelsie Rudd raised $830.00 and Miles Marinello raised $600.00 of support. Members of Explorer Post 900 are a committed group of young people who continue to raise the bar of community involvement in Pinellas County. |
