Eleven members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 participated in the Florida Sheriff’s Exploring Association delegate’s meeting and pistol competition held in Panama City, Florida on December 5-7.

For the first time as members of the F.S.E.A. Post 900 trained and competed against Sheriff’s Explorer Posts from around the state. They met at the Bay County Sheriff’s Office for a day of felony traffic stop instruction provided by Bay County Sheriff’s Deputies. The pistol competition was also hosted by the Bay County Sheriff’s Office. Explorers had the opportunity to compete choosing from CO2 pistols, .38 revolvers, or the semi-automatic category.

Explorer Post 900 represented the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office extremely well. Explorer Matthew Sauter received 2nd place in the TYRO division using a revolver, Explorer Melinda Mujidzic received 1st place in the TYRO division using a revolver, and Explorer Lieutenant Joshua Davidson received first place as the Overall Division Winner in the semi-automatic category. Following the training and competition, all Explorers had the opportunity to socialize at a bowling/bingo activity in Panama City.

We were excited to meet members of other Sheriff’s Office Posts and learn of their community involvement, training, and the variety of activities they participate in. The week-end was an overall success! Members of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post 900 continue to reflect the standards of our agency in training and performance. Great Job Post 900!
